This is my down-and-dirty post about cancer. I wrote it for a FB group and am re-posting here since I get asked so much about it:
Even though I think it’s impossible to definitively say what an individual dealing with cancer is needing to work with, some themes that I’ve noticed, both as a practitioner of IMT and acupuncture as well as someone who has been initiated by cancer, are integrating the ‘other,’ self-love (especially showing up in issues about boundaries), surrender, and intuition. Physiologically, I advocate a clean, varied diet that includes living water, but only rarely a hyper-alkaline diet. While alkaline diets can clear heat/inflammation in the body, they don’t often heal the underlying issue and can be damaging in the long term, not to mention hard to follow. (The diet I follow is gluten-free, dairy-free, heavy on bone broth, fermented foods, and vegetables, with judicious amounts of clean protein such as organic eggs and pastured or wild-caught meats and fish and lots of saturated fats such as ghee, coconut oil, and avocados. The supplements I take are mostly whole food items such as lion’s mane and turkey tail mushroom, and Chinese herbs.)
As we see it in Chinese medicine, cancer is a result of “blood stagnation” or “qi stagnation.” In western terms you might say poor circulation causing cellular hypoxia. Causes of stagnation could be emotional (any emotion; where it shows up can be a strong clue as to which; google German New Medicine for a fascinating download about this), past life issues (for this, I use Focussing, shamanic journeying, or Depth Hypnosis), diet (as it affects water), or toxicity (pesticides, plastics, heavy metals, EMF, radiation, other carcinogens). For valuable information about water, polarity and energy in the body, see Thomas Cowan’s “Cancer and the New Biology of Water.” I use IMT and far-infrared sauna to mitigate and help the body metabolize toxicity and EMF. Acupuncture and IMT can help with improving the polarity of water in the body. “The Emotion Code” by Bradley Nelson could offer a relatively easy way to clear stuck emotions and trauma out of the tissues.
If someone is trying to decide a course of treatment, I highly advocate that they develop their intuition—and use it. I’ve seen people use nearly any type of treatment (including radiation, chemotherapy, and experimental drugs, which I personally have limited trust in) and heal. I’ve also seen people live a long time with undisrupted cancer and see this, depending on the person, as a wise course of action if there is limited capacity to alchemize cancer. To me, the key seems to be that a person follows their internal guidance, suggesting another major theme in dealing with cancer, about not being a victim, especially because the field so strongly promotes a connection between cancer and victimization.
Hope this helps!
