A client I’ll call Kim came in for a treatment the other day. She is adept at doing alchemical work, meaning that she listens for the place inside her that hurts, has the courage to uncover it, and uses whatever comes up to transform any limiting beliefs associated with what she finds. With her permission, I will share part of her experience since we both found it so beautiful.
After doing a bit of IMT bodywork on her, Kim described a feeling that emerged in her throat. Keeping my hands on her to help her body process the feeling, I switched into a Depth Hypnosis mode. I guided her to deepen the feeling and we followed it to a past life in which she felt limited. Kim’s partner in this life had been in that one, too, and he also felt stuck by their circumstances. But Kim didn’t see another way and felt sad and hopeless that she couldn’t be with the people she longed to be with. And her partner chose to support her instead of pursuing his own heart’s calling.
Later, I asked Kim to move to another space and time that might shed more light on her initial question. She moved into a future in which our technological advancements had been put into service to the Earth. There were people all around, wearing high tech snow suits against the cold, and they were all working on a project together. She described the wonderful feeling of connection and togetherness she felt with those around her. When I asked her where her partner was, she at first said he was with her, but then said that he was with her, but far away.
Her voice shifted into awe as she described an utterly different perception of togetherness and connection than in her previous lifetime. Instead of feeling that people who aren’t physically close by are lost to you, as when people die, or children remain unborn, or lovers break up, or you can’t reach them, there is a pervasive feeling of connection, where their presence in the field that connects you all is self-evident. It makes all feelings of aloneness and separation seem simply untrue.
Part of the reason I found Kim’s vision so beautiful is because it rings true for me. In the last few years, the presence of loved ones who are far away has, indeed, shifted into a new mode, where I can feel them just by calling them to mind. It’s not infrequent, either, that those loved ones will then describe thinking of me at the same time, too, or even call me up to say, “I felt you.”
I love this vision of the future. It inspires me to pray that our sense of connectedness grows ever stronger.
